Best Home Budget Software
If you’re one of the individuals who would rather have a root canal done that create a home budget, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel, and we urge you to read on. It’s essential now, especially with the adverse economic conditions, to be able to track your spending, and reduce debt. With our home budget software, you can do both.
Please don’t listen to those self proclaimed financial gurus in the government. The economy may be showing some minute signs of recovery, but it will take several years for any substantial gains. Look at the unemployment rate in the US plus the absolute chaos in Europe with unmanageable debt. The additional high debt created in the US by the current administration isn’t going to help fuel a recovery either. The point that we’re trying to make is, now is the time to get a handle on your financial situation by tracking your spending, reducing debt, and very important, create a reserve fund for future unforeseen emergencies.
We are fully aware that it is difficult to begin to create a household or a personal budget. Many individuals simply don’t know how to go about it because they feel they’re not qualified, or perhaps are so burdened with debt, that there aren’t any dollars left. Some couples are even working two additional jobs just trying to make ends meet. Home budget software can guide you through this maze.
Whatever your reason, creating a budget can be an unnerving task if you haven’t done it before. There is some good news, however, in today’s technological society, many firms have developed sophisticated software programs that will guide you every step of the way. No longer do you have to sit down with an Excel spreadsheet and develop numerous formulas, hoping they are correct.
There are many software applications available, and it can become a little confusing. Most of them will track your income and expenses but offer no assistance or advice in the area of debt reduction. They leave that decision up to you, and if you’re not familiar with this concept, that software probably isn’t the one for you. You’ll have questions such as, what’s the best way and how much should you be paying on your credit card debt, plus how much should you be saving or placing in a reserve account for future emergencies? You need to select the home budget software package that will answer those questions, plus many more.
The best home budget software program will do all of the basic functions, plus will show you ways to save money and effectively reduce your debt. The program should also be intuitive and able to be customized for your individual situation. As we mentioned earlier, a budget can be created on a simple spreadsheet, but can be an immense amount of work, and not accurate. A good software program cuts out all of that unnecessary work and is accurate. The program that you choose should be able to handle credit cards, mortgages, plus your bank accounts, and also provide comprehensive tutorials and budgeting advice and suggestions. A big plus is one that also offers Free training if you want or need it.
It doesn’t take too much effort to develop home budget software that will produce simple reports and graphs, but that really won’t help you very much. You need one that will help you to create a budget and optimize your finances based on your income. Even if you’re an individual with high income, you should know where your money goes, and be able to plan for the future. Problems always arise and your retirement should be planned as well. Best home budget.
We’re all very aware that conditions change, unexpected high expenses arise, and perhaps a debt spiral begins. Don’t be caught in that situation and please don’t use a fancy spreadsheet. Purchase a good home budget software program that will perform all of those functions mentioned above and you’ll be very glad you did. We recommend the best program for this, and it’s called You Need A Budget. Our next article will cover the details of this intuitive program and why it’s the program for you.

I wouldn’t go as far as a root canal, but I can think of a few other procedures that I would prefer, rather than create a personal budget. I know I should, and before or at least, right after I get married, I will do one. The budget software that you mentioned does make it look a lot easier. I also like the fact that they offer free help in using the software and creating the budget too. Thanks for a good reference.
Thanks Marcia. I highly encourage you to give budgeting a try, it’s not as difficult as you might imagine.
I on the other hand, actually ENJOY budgeting and living on a plan. Even though my goal is financial freedom, I think that even if I earned a lot of money I’d still like to budget it and plan my spendings. Great site btw!
Thanks Gordon, appreciate your comments. I too enjoy budgeting and have been doing it for many years.
I must agree with Marcia! I am not one for budgeting. Although I DO know that it is necessary to make a budget, even for the wealthiest people. So I hope this can help!
Most individuals have a hard time getting started creating a budget. You can start by listing the various expenses that you have such as food, clothing, rent, etc. A lot of the expenses will have fixed amounts. The main idea is to track your spending and see where or if your money is going for things you really don’t need. Once you get started, it should become easier. Good luck.
Can anyone recommend some budgeting applications? I’m using an iPhone app called ‘Expenditure’ currently. It’s works well but I think I need something more. Thanks!
Hi Emily,
You might want to check out a program called You Need A Budget. It was developed by a CPA in Utah and has had a lot of national recognition.
Emily – I think you meant to ask if there was an iPhone app for the budget software in the article? Yes, there is, and it’s great. Check the bottom of their website.
Thanks, I neglected to tell her.
This sounds really intriguing, after reading your post I’m definitely going to consider some home budgeting software. An intuitive program sounds great, anything that keeps it as simple as possible is definitely a good thing, it’s all about making life easier not more difficult 🙂 And I hate using spreadsheets so think it would be perfect for me. Thanks for sharing
I can’t wait to start using the YNAB software and I am definitely not one for budgeting. It should be very interesting to see how it works. I do have a questions for you Gustav, I have money coming in from several sources, can the YNAB software adapt to that or is that something I will have to do?
The budgeting software can handle various types of income, from different sources, and it works very well. Enjoy.
These tips are really tremendous so far. I think these can help us quickly in the sale of our home. This posting must be helpful for all. Thank you for sharing with us. Nice job…
